This jacket evolved from the two layer Brynje Arctic clothing and offers exceptional breathability, insulation and protection from the wind. The Super Thermo net lining allows excess moisture to pass from the body to the outer layer of Merino wool. The wool then transports this moisture to the outer surface of the jacket where it can evaporate. In addition to the breathability the Merino wool outer layer simultaneously insulates the body from the cold even under damp or wet conditions. The Proline windproof/breathable membrane, sewn into the front of the jacket between the lining and outer layer, provides protection from biting winds. The breathablility and warmth of the jacket is superior to fleece products and the windproof lining in the front minimizes the need to put on a full windproof waterproof jacket. The Antarctic jacket has many essential design features. A full zip in the front allows for variable ventilation, the high Merino wool collar keeps out drafts, two stash pockets in the chest are designed for easy access even when wearing a climbing or sled harness and the hem of the jacket features an elastic draw cord to keep out unwanted drafts or provide ventilation. The cut of the Antarctic jacket is a comfortably contoured fit which allows complete freedom of movement yet provides a fit that is comfortable when wearing a backpack. Please note that the Merino wool used in the Antarctic jacket is blended with 30% polyester. This makes the Merino wool much more resilient to tough outdoor wear and makes it easy to launder. Your Brynje Antarctic jacket will provide you with many years of functional outdoor use.
